BING.com home page

Microsoft recently launched the new decision engine called BING. Bing has now take over as the default IE Search rather than Windows Live and MSN live.

A decision engine works towards helping you find specific items such as purchases and travel. It can also help with everyday purchases as well and help to find your business listing. Bing pulls information in from several locations. Multiple Source Types: Web, Images, Instant Answer, Phonebook, Related Search, Spell, and more.
Here is a link to the Bing information page to find out more how Bing works, there are several videos that you can watch.

Here are the highlights of what Bing is trying to be.:
• Delivering great search results and one-click access to relevant information
• Creating a more organized search experience
• Simplifying tasks and providing tools that enable insight about key decisions

What do you need to do in order to get your business listed on BING. The first thing is to search for your company and find if you are already listed on BING. Go to Bing.com and in the search box type site:yourwebaddres.com hit the results and your business should come up with all the pages listed.
This means that Bing has you listed. If you are not then they have a suggest a site for Bing. Enter your web address and the Captcha image text to add your site.

The end result is that with good Search Engine Optimization on your site you should already be listed on BING with several pages and start getting traction on your site for traffic. The main concern that your site is optimized for Google first and then you can include techniques to have your site listed and included in the other search engine results.

I am going to be looking more into Bing as it pertains to businesses that market services and products because they do have a new approach to giving users an instant incentive to purchase the items they have found through Bing. Having your product or service be the one that is found and purchased is the goal.

Here is a short exert for the Bing webmaster blog

Content is king when it is well-written, relevant, and expert in nature, thus worthy of an outbound link from another website. Start your website’s reign in your industry by thinking what how you can add more relevant content to your site to attract new visitors and inbound links. But one word of caution: just like in high school, plagiarism is still an honor code violation, and search engines are like your strict English Composition teacher. They know if you’re copying content from elsewhere, and there can be penalties for cheating. Either develop your own content or give credit where credit is due by linking back to the original (after all, you’d want that link back for your original content!).
