How Small Business can get ready to use Google+
I am noticing some patterns and thought I'd start a conversation about what Small Businesses might do with Google+.
I am noticing some patterns and thought I'd start a conversation about what Small Businesses might do with Google+.
First, I've noticed brands do the following things:
1. They are helpful to their customers. This is why Zappos and ComcastCares use Twitter.
2. They demonstrate authority and credibility over the marketplace they serve. This is why Rackspace shares that learning on YouTube and Google+
3. They encourage evangelistic/promoter behavior by their customers. This is why RideCWB wakeboards promotes Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/CWBBoardCo
4. They use it to share news about the company. Look at the tech company list on Twitter: https://twitter.com/#!/Scobleizer/tech-companies and you'll see mostly press release types of things.

So, how could small business use Google+ once the platform matures here is how Google+ can be used.
- Use the tools in Google+ as a customer service portal. The Hangout feature will allow the clients to connect and ask questions right away to a live person that they can see.
- Follow posts within your industry and allow clients to follow those same people to show you are an expert in your area.
- Your Company can use separate feeds for pushing out press releases throughout your company.
- Brand your landing pages consistently from platform to platform: This includes your web page, Facebook, Twitter and Google+ also consider your Blog and advertising that you have going out that will also be branded the same.
- Location based targeting with Google+ will be easier when you can tie in your Google Places listing with your Google+ account
- Tie all your advertising together and monitor it with Google+ you will be able to see through Google Analytics and Webmaster tools all the traffic coming through your site and your how they are finding you.
